CIFF 48 is a new initiative of Filmplan and Carl International Film Festival that aims to bring filmmakers from Sweden and around the world together in the city of Karlskrona for 48 hours of filmmaking fun.

What is it?

A 48-hour film festival challenge is a bit like a scavenger hunt for filmmakers. Participants will join together in teams, receive some basic instructions, and then be set loose to run all over the beautiful archipelago of Karlskrona hunting for all the ingredients needed to write, shoot, and edit a short film in just 48 hours. At the end of the 48 hours, everyone gathers again for a big screening of all the films to celebrate!

Why should you join?

This 48-hour film challenge is for everyone, from beginners to professionals. If you are still new to film and looking for more experience, it is the perfect opportunity to learn from our professional film coaches and other filmmakers on your team who have more experience. If you have been making films for a while, it’s a great chance to test your creativity by working within the strict limitations the challenge provides. Whatever your experience level, it is certain that you will have a lot fun, meet amazing people who love film as much as you do, and leave with a completed short film to your name!

Oh yeah, and it is free of charge!

Does it sound fun? Then what are you waiting for?? Fill out the registration form and come join us this June in Karlskrona!

We’re looking forward seeing you soon!
