The German troops are just outside of Paris. George, a young Jewish man, eventually escapes toMarsaille by taking over the identity of a deceased author. While stuck in Marseille, he meets a young woman who desperately searches for her missing husband – the same person he’s impersonating. The film takes place in a contemporary Marsaille, where characters and the story shift between identities and epochs ina challanging Kafkaesque refugee drama that vastly binds together the present and past.
