Nina and Wojtek’s marriage is leading nowhere and their constant failure to have children has completely paralyzed the relationship. When they meet the young Magda, they decide to suggest that she become the surrogate mother for their child. Magda is a brave and independent woman who constantly shifts between lovers and relationships, but gets increasingly infiltrated in Nina and Wojtek’s problems. It gets even more complicated when Nina suddenly feels strongly attracted to Magda, their love affair is a fact. Olga Chajda’s feature debut Nina is an intimate and sensationally beautiful depiction of the emotional escape of two women and and their lust for each other in a traditional Polish society where their love does not have a given place.
