Carl International Film Festival (CIFF) is a film festival in Karlskrona, Sweden. As one of the first festivals bringing together films from the Baltic Sea countries, Carl International Film Festival is setting out to showcase the untold stories and the new talents of the region. The festival aims to promote openness and freedom with a special focus on the Baltic sea region and filmmakers who work for this through their films.
Carl International Film Festival presents a film programme with focus on new feature films from Finland, Russia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Germany, Denmark, Sweden and Norway including the festival’s competitive section Baltic Sea Competition, a seminar and event programme, as well as a forum for the film industry participants centered on co-production in the region.
The festival also presents a film industry forum, aiming to present new opportunities for international co-productions, financing of film and audiovisual media and storytelling, all the time with the framing of Karlskrona and Southern Sweden.
The first edition of Carl International Film Festival was held 2017. The fourth edition of the festival is set August 21–26, 2020.
